Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR)

Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR) is a diagnostic procedure used to evaluate the severity of blockages in the coronary arteries. During FFR measurement, a specialized pressure wire is inserted into the coronary artery to measure the pressure before and after the blockage. This allows cardiologists to determine if the blockage is causing a significant reduction in blood flow to the heart muscle and helps guide treatment decisions, such as the need for angioplasty or stenting.
